On any given day in Ohio there are over 16,000 children in foster care and over 124,000 children in kinship care. Our organization was born out of the need to connect, support, and encourage the families that care for these children. Seeds of Hope OH is a nonprofit agency located in Troy since March 2019. We serve foster, kinship, and adoptive families by providing basic needs such as beds, car seats, clothing, school supplies, Christmas gifts and more. We also host monthly support events to connect and encourage the families caring for children from hard places. We know that being a foster parent is not for everyone, so it is our mission to share the many ways you can support children in care throughout our community.
The Troy Rotary Foundation has been an integral part of the Troy and surrounding community by providing grants to various nonprofit organizations, schools, and student scholarships. Our mission is to support the positive development of our youth in the community. Over the past 25 years the Troy Rotary Foundation has awarded $381,585 to these various causes. In order to continue serving our youth we are partnering with Seeds of Hope and Isaiah’s Place to host a fundraiser where the proceeds will help fund our foundation as well as the goals and missions of our partner organizations.
On average in the US, 1 in 10 children are affected by sexual abuse. Over the last 5 years in Miami County, there have been 366 investigations of child sexual abuse. The Child Advocacy Center at Isaiah’s Place provides a coordinated response to allegations of child abuse in Miami County. A collaborative team made up of Law Enforcement, Children Services, Victim Advocates, Prosecutors and Mental Health and Medical Providers work together to ensure these cases are handled in a timely, trauma informed manner. The Child Advocacy Center will support children and families to optimize safety, promote healing, and pursue justice for child victims.
